BJP committed to uplifting poor, says Amit Shah at Pudukkottai

Shah said the Union government did not make any cuts in implementing its schemes to Tamil Nadu.

Pudukkottai: The BJP national president Amit Shah said their Government at the Centre led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was committed to uplift the living standards of the poor and downtrodden through various welfare measures.

Shah made this remarks while addressing an election meeting in favour of the party’s national secretary and Sivaganga Lok Sabha candidate H. Raja at Lena Vilakku near Pudukkottai on Tuesday. He also recalled MGR’s efforts to uplift the poor in Tamil Nadu.

Listing out the achievements of the BJP government at the centre, Shah said seven crore poor families have been provided with LPG supply, eight crore people provided with toilet facility and more than 60 crore people benefitted under the Prime Minister’s health insurance scheme,

He said the Union government did not make any cuts in implementing its schemes to Tamil Nadu.

He said the Union government has announced several new schemes for Tamil Nadu including defence corridor project, Rs 1,760 crore AIIMS hospital at Madurai. He was hopeful that Narendra Modi will form the government at again at the Centre.

Among others, besides H. Raja, BJP’s Ramnad LS candidate Nainar Nagendran, State Health Minister Dr C. Vijayabaskar, and other alliance party leaders participated in the rally.
