TRS government projects farm dole as panacea: BJP
Hyderabad: The TRS government is trying to project Rs 4,000 per acre farmers sop as sarva roga nivarini (panacea) without addressing the real issues and problems being faced by the farmers, said BJP leader G. Kishan Reddy.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Mr Reddy said the groundwater levels in all districts have fallen to alarming levels and people in northern Telangana districts were migrating to other places due to lack of drinking water.
He said the Centre had granted Rs 1,000 crore to Telangana for drought relief but the TRS government failed to utilise the funds so far.
“The ground water levels in all districts have fallen by 4 to 5 metres higher over last year. About 100 mandals are facing severe drought conditions. Instead of addressing these grave problems, the CM and his ministers are speaking about only Rs 4,000 per acres farmers sop. This sop is not a sarva roga nivarini to mitigate all the problems faced by farmers and people,” Mr Reddy stated.
He alleged that the TRS government was falsely claming to be a rich state while CAG report showed that it is false.
