Satyameva Jayate protest by Congress from today in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: The APCC president Dr N. Raghuveera Reddy and party leaders sat on a relay hunger strike on Monday in the city, demanding special status to AP.
The APCC also demanded for a discussion on the notice on no-confidence motion in the Parliament. The protest programme organised in the name of ‘Satyameva Jayate’, was supported by 84 people’s union and associations, said APCC chief Dr Raghuveera Reddy, on the occasion. He alleged that BJP is behind the AIADMK agitation in the Lok Sabha and added that these protest programmes will be carried out in all the district headquarters, from April 3 to 6.
In case the BJP is not going to give clarity over special status to AP in these sessions, it won’t give forever, Dr Raghuveera Reddy said. He also questioned the integrity of both TD and YSRC, as they have not heard the appeal of Congress to boycott Rajya Sabha elections.
The APCC chief Raghuveera Reddy released the pamphlet in the name of ‘Satyameva Jayate’, highlighting the issues related to bifurcation of the state and special status to AP.
Speaking on the occasion, former Union minister M.M. Pallam Raju said that ‘Satyaneva Jayate’ protest programmes will be carried out in all the districts of AP, from April 3 to 6.
CPM state committee secretary P. Madhu, former MLA Mastan Vali and former MLC Gidugu Rudraraju also participated in the protest programme.
