CPI, CPM likely tie-up with Pawan Kalyan worries major parties

Present CPI state secretary K. Ramakrishna had been elected as MLA from Anantapur.

Anantapur: The possible tie-up between Jana Sena and Left parties are becoming a cause for worry for other parties who fear the impact of this tie-up in the upcoming general polls. Already the CPI and CPM have a strong base in urban and rural parts in Rayalaseema region and the Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan’s abundant youth following would put up an aggressive fight for both TD, YSRC and BJP, say the analysts.

Already Mr Pawan Kalyan has announced that he would be contesting from Anantapur district; the vote banks and cadres of the Left parties will be an additional advantage, a leader from Jana Sena observed and recalled that the CPI had a history of winning Anantapur Assembly segment two decades ago.

Present CPI state secretary K. Ramakrishna had been elected as MLA from Anantapur. Further, CPM leader Dr Geyanand had also been elected as MLC in the under-graduate constituency of Anantapur.

CPI and CPM parties also have a strong base in Kur-nool and Kadapa headquarters along with other constituencies. Left parties are known to have cadres to lead polls with a well-planned strategy.

The CPI is making its ground ready to join with Pawan Kalyan-led Jana Sena in the upcoming 2019 Assembly Elections.

State CPI secretary Mr Ramakrishna observed that both had similar ideologies and thoughts and were fighting on genuine causes. “We have decided to go along with Jana Sena. In the upcoming elections, people’s welfare is only agenda, and we are ready to walk with individuals who share similar ideologies.”

The CPI will announce its final decision on the allian-ces in upcoming polls after the CPI meeting at Kadapa.

A senior analyst recalled that Praja Rajyam and Lok Satta had impacted and even changed the fate of many candidates during 2009 general polls. Similar scenes can be expected in the next polls.
