KCR to fulfil Rs 5 crore gold ornaments to Lord Venkateswara
Nizamabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday said that he will visit Tirumala soon to fulfil his vow of offering ornaments worth Rs 5 crore to Lord Venkateswara.
“I prayed to the Lord to make the dream of a separate Telangana state a reality and vowed to offer ornaments worth '5 crore once statehood was achieved,” he said.
Mr Rao, along with his wife K. Sobha, took part in Sudarshana yagam at Sri Venkateswara temple at Timmapurgutta in Birkur mandal on Saturday, where he said that a kalyana mandapam will be built at Timmapurgutta at a cost of '10 crore.
Mr Rao said that the Venkateswara temple will be developed on the lines of Tirumala and 387 acres of land at Timmapurgutta will be allotted to it.
He donated Rs 1,00,116 to the temple. Mr Rao also came down heavily on the Opposition, saying that they were not keen on developing Telangana state. He found fault with the Opposition parties for skipping the PowerPoint presentation on irrigation projects. The CM reiterated that TRS government will bring one crore acres of land under irrigation.
“We will move forward with redesigning of projects and will bring back the lost glory of Nizamsagar project with Kaleshwaram lift irrigation,” he said.
Mr Rao said his government had resolved the three-decade-old problem of power shortage and that three phase power will be supplied 24x7 from 2018-19.
“Check dams will be constructed across River Manjeera,” he said.
The CM sanctioned a minority school for Kotagiri and Rs 1 crore for Banswada town. MPs K. Kavitha, B.B. Patil, ministers Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and A. Indrakaran Reddy and others accompanied Mr Rao. Mr Rao left for his farmhouse at Erravalli in Medak district in the evening.
