Hyderabad: The Privileges Committee of the AP Assembly on Saturday issued a notice to YSR Congress MLA R.K. Roja, summoning her to appear before it on April 6. Earlier, the committee had issued notices thrice, but Ms Roja did not attend, citing health reasons.
The Privileges Committee had recommended her suspension from the House which was accepted by the Assembly in the recent session. The House accepted the recommendation of the Privileges Committee to give one more opportunity to Ms Roja to appear before it. This one year suspension has nothing to do with the case which is pending before the court. Ms Roja has already said she would appear before the committee.
