TRS stands by KTR on Congress yatra comments
Hyderabad: TRS leaders on Friday justified IT minister K.T. Rama Rao’s recent comments on the Congress bus yatra. They said Mr Rama Rao was right in terming it as ‘Yatra of Jana Baba and 40 thieves’.
The party alleged that the Congress leaders had looted the state for 60 years and they rightly deserved to be called thieves. “What’s wrong in KTR’s remarks on Congress bus yatra? Everyone knows how Congress leaders looted the state in the past 60 years. It’s history. They are now taking up a bus yatra and trying to fool the public with false promises. They should realise that public is not innocent to believe th-em. Since Congress leader Jana Reddy and oth-er leaders are undertaking the yatra, KTR had described it one of Jana Baba and 40 thieves,” said energy minister G. Jagadish Reddy at a press conference along with TRS MLA Gadari Kishore and MLCs Gangadhar Goud and P. Ravinder.
They took strong exception to Mr Jana Reddy’s remarks on Mr Rama Rao terming him ‘uncultured and ill-mannered’.
“The language used by Congress leaders against the Chief Minister and his family members for the past four years shows who are uncultured and ill-mannered. The CM and TRS leaders address Jana Reddy as ‘peddalu’ (respected) Jana Reddy. Even Jana’s own Congress leaders never respected him like the CM and TRS party does,”Mr Reddy said.
Mr Kishore said Mr Rama Rao brought laurels to Telangana state and the government with his efficiency in successfully holding the recent international summits and conferences starting from Ivanka Trump’s visit to the Bio Asia meet and played a key role in Telangana attracting major investments.
“None of the 40 Congress leaders doing bus yatra has the stature or efficiency of KTR. He may be junior to them in politics but none of them can match the capabilities and efficiency of KTR. It’s an open challenge and we are ready for a public debate with any party or leader on this issue,” Mr Kishore added.
