BRS Rubbishes Exit Polls, Says KCR Will Be CM

HYDERABAD: The BRS on the eve of counting of votes dismissed any chance that it would lose the Telangana Assembly elections, and dismissed the predictions of several exit polls that the ruling party was all set to make way for the Congress, claiming “exit polls are not exact polls.”

BRS leader Dr Sravan Dasoju said the exit polls were “paid for and manipulated,” adding that the bond between BRS and the people was strong and that party president K. Chandrashekar Rao was all set to return for a historic third consecutive time as Chief Minister.

Addressing a press conference, Dr Sravan said Congress leaders led by its state president A. Revanth Reddy were citing such exit polls and hoping for a victory. “They are deriving sadistic pleasure by spreading malicious rumours on social media against CM KCR. It is disgusting that Revanth Reddy is spreading messages saying Rao is getting ready to vacate Pragathi Bhavan.

He said that it was unfortunate that the Congress had complained to the Election Commission and met Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj, alleging that the BRS government was diverting Rythu Bandhu money to contractors and that it “is changing assigned land records in the Dharani Portal in the name of CM's family members. This is not just maligning KCR but also an attempt to insult bureaucrats and all government officials.”

He said Rao had transformed Telangana into one of the most progressive and developed states. “This was done in just five and a half years if we remove the first two years that mostly went for settling the new state, and two years due to the Covid pandemic. Within this short period, KCR totally changed the face of Telangana,” he said.
