Hyderabad: The TRS government on Saturday provided 4+4 security cover to Congress working President A. Revanth Reddy. The Hyderabad High court on Friday directed the Telangana police to accord the security to the Congress candidate contesting from Kodangal after he filed a petition demanding the same.
In November, Mr Revanth Reddy filed the petition with the HC stating that he was facing threat to his life from his rivals. In main of his campaign speeches, he attacked TRS leaders saying that they were targeting him.
The HC, after hearing his petition, directed the Telangana government to assign eight security guards for Mr Revanth Reddys protection. Along with eight gunmen, the police department has also allocated two escort vehicles for the leader in his Assembly constituency Kodangal. The security cover will continue till December 11, the day of the election results.
