Congress ropes in Andhra Pradesh leaders to campaign for Telangana elections

HYDERABAD: AP Congress president N. Raghuveera Reddy said that AP unit leaders of the party would campaign for the December 7 elections on the direction of the high command and the request of their Telangana counterparts.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday, Mr Reddy said that AP Congress leaders will campaign in support of People’s Front candidates wherever their services are required from Sunday.

Mr Reddy said that AP Congress leaders had campaigned in other states in the past. He said that the AP Congress leaders would treat the Telangana Assembly elections as if they were being held in Andhra Pradesh.

The AP Congress chief praised the People’s Front manifesto and noted that the Rythu Bandhu scheme would be extended to tenant farmers also. He said Congress president Rahul Gandhi becoming Prime Minister in the 2019 elections was a certainty.
