YSR's associates join Jagan Mohan Reddy's padayatra
VIJAYAWADA: A group of 150 people from various sections of the society, who are strong ardent supporters and followers of the late CM Dr Y.S. Rajashekar Reddy has joined Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, in his padayatra. They have been walking with the YSRC chief since the launch of the padayatra on November 6 at YSR memorial in YSR Kadapa district.
Dr Raju, an RMP doctor from Srikakulam has been walking the entire stretch of padayatra with Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy and he has resolved to walk with the YSRC chief till the end. He is one amongst many who participated in the historic walkathon of the late CM YS Rajashekar Reddy in 2003 and the yatra undertaken by Ms Sharmila in 2013. The party has now been informed that many such groups of people are getting ready to join Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy in his 3,000 km long padayatra. From Anantapur, a group of retired employees are getting ready to join the opposition leader in the next two weeks.
Naveen, from Visakhapat-nam who works with a private firm has taken a sabbatical from his employer for 6 months to walk with his beloved leader. A small-scale businessman of YSR district, Kishore, has left his business to walk alongside the YSRC chief and have vouched to walk the entire stretch.
Differently-abled people are also turning up in huge scores to meet Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy as many have benefited from schemes launched by the late Chief Minister Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy.
More than 5,000 people are walking with the Opposition leader at any given point of time and the number goes up to 30,000-50,000 when Mr Reddy passes through towns and addresses public gatherings. The party is expecting that these dedicated supporters will play a key role in spreading its message during this campaign.
