Intelligence Bureau to gauge threat to Sathish babu
Hyderabad: The Security Review Committee comprising officials from the State Intelligence Bureau will analyse the magnitude of threat before providing cover to Hyderabad-based businessman Sana Sathish Babu who moved has the Supreme Court seeking police protection. Satish Babu is embroiled in the battle between the CBI top brass.
The maximum protection he is likely to get is 2+2 gunmen. If the state deems him a ‘whistleblower’, the home ministry will pay for the guards; if not, Satish Babu will have to spend from his own pocket.
A senior police officer said, “The threat will be analysed. He has has yet not met the Cyberabad commissioner to explain the magnitude of threat, neither has the SC order copy been submitted.
Sathish Babu who resides in Gachibowli had levelled bribery charges against CBI special director Rakesh Asthana. He was also accused of having bribed CBI director Alok Verma.
Satish Babu moved the SC for protection and the top court on October 31 directed the Hyderabad police to provide him adequate security.
According to the Whistle Blowers Protection Act, 2011 a person who investigates and reports corruption in the system is entitled for protection.
