Telugu Desam's Kancherla brothers start for Congress, join TRS

Learning of this, energy minister G Jagadish Reddy contacted the brothers and persuaded them to join the TRS.

Hyderabad: The Kancherla brothers, Bhupal Reddy and Krishna Reddy, from the TD’s Nalgonda unit joined the TRS in the presence of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Mr Bhupal Reddy was denied a TD ticket in 2014 from Nalgonda as the seat was allotted to the BJP as part of the alliance. He contested as an independent and came second. He was made TD incharge for the Nalgonda Assembly seat. They were supposed to join the Congress along with Mr A. Revanth Reddy but their entry was opposed by Nalgonda legislator Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.

Learning of this, energy minister G. Jagadish Reddy contacted the brothers and persuaded them to join the TRS. He took them to Mr Chandrasekhar Rao’s residence where they joined the TRS. Mr Rao promised the brothers suitable positions after consulting with TRS leaders from Nalgonda. Elsewhere, scores of Congress and TD workers from Kodangal joined the TRS in the presence of ministers K.T. Rama Rao, Dr C. Laxma Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao.
