On Sunday, Modi was in Mahbubnagar to launch developmental projects worth over Rs 13,500 crore.

Modi’s announcements and public meetings have buoyed BJP leaders and cadre, by serving as a launchpad for the party’s Assembly election poll campaign.

While the official machinery made arrangements for the inauguration of the NTPC power plant in virtual mode, the BJP leadership made arrangements for a public meeting at the Girraj Government Degree College ground. Modi will arrive by helicopter at 2.55 pm and lay foundation stones and dedicate to the nation various projects.

Sources said that 700 people will attend the official programme, following which the Prime Minister is will address around 1.5 lakh people, mostly farmers, from 14 Assembly constituencies in Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Jagtial and Nirmal districts.

BJP state president G. Kishan Reddy, MP Dharmapuri Arvind, senior leader G. Premender Reddy and Assembly constituency incharges are actively coordinating to make the arrangements for the Indur Jana Garjana public meeting.

This will also mark Modi’s first visit to Nizamabad as the Prime Minister, as his previous visit, for the first time in 2014, was for canvassing voters for the Lok Sabha elections.

Nizamabad city was splashed in saffron as BJP leaders set up flexi boards, banners and flags in and around the city, highlighting portraits of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. For the past three days, Central and state security agencies have been making arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit. Choppers also made trail visits several times, as Narendra Modi is expected to reach Nizamabad from Bidar in neighbouring Karnataka.

MP Dharmapuri Arvind appealed to the public to make the Indur Jana Garjana public meeting a “grand success”, saying that Modi sanctioned crores of rupees projects for Telangana state.
