HYDERABAD: The Congress will mark the commencement of a 67-day Vidyarthi, Nirudyoga Jung Siren agitation for students and unemployed youth with TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy garlanding the statue of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi around 3pm in Dilsukhnagar here on Saturday. The agitation will conclude on December 9.
Finding fault with the TRS government for not releasing fee reimbursement funds and not filling up 1.91 lakh vacant government jobs, AICC spokesperson Dasoju Sravan said that Telangana state was achieved by the youth who were hopeful of ample employment opportunities. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has not only failed to fulfill his promises but has also removed outsourcing employees of field assistants, vidya volunteers, ANMs and others, he said.
Revanth Reddy, along with AICC Telangana in-charge Manickam Tagore, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and several others, including from Youth Congress, NSUI and student organisations, will take up padayatra from Dilsukhnagar to Telangana martyr Srikanth Chary’s statue at LB Nagar cross roads on Saturday.
