Congress seeks TJS support in Huzurnagar
Hyderabad: Leaders of the state unit of the Congress met Telangana Jana Samiti president Kodandaram on Tuesday and requested his party’s support in Huzurnagar bye election. TPCC treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy and former MP Konda Visweshwar Reddy held the discussions with Mr Kodandaram.
After the discussions, Mr Kodandaram said the party would take a decision after discussing the matter in its executive meeting.
TPCC Treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy said TRS leaders were afraid that sarpanches would defeat their candidates like what happened in Nizamabad Lok Sabha elections where turmeric farmers defeated TRS candidate K. Kavitha.
Meanwhile, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee working president Ponnam Prabhakar on Tuesday condemned the remarks made by the BJP’s state unit president K. Laxman that the Congress was a “tail party” and demanded that the leader withdrew the comments and tendered an apology.
