People will decide who'll be CM: BS Yeddyurappa

BSY takes a swipe at Siddu claim that he will open Dasara next year too.

Bengaluru: The state BJP has sought the dismissal of Social Welfare Minister Mr H Anjaneya, who reportedly objected to the celebration of Vijaya Dashami and Ayudha Pooja.

Speaking before participating in the BJP Vistharak Workshop near Devanahalli, Mr Yeddyurappa said that it was the state tradition to celebrate Vijaya Dashami and Ayudha Pooja. If the Minister had any objection to celebrating traditional festivals, he should be dismissed from the Cabinet, he said.

Refusing to react to a statement made by Chief Minister Mr Siddaramaiah that he would inaugurate the Dasara next year too (after the polls), Mr Yeddyurappa said people would decide who should inaugurate Dasara.“I have faith in god and I have the people's support. I have confidence that I will manage Dasara as CM next year,'' Mr Yeddyurappa said.

Earlier, inaugurating the Vistarak Workshop, former Deputy CM Mr R Ashok said the Congress was turning out to be an anti-Hindu party and was exhibiting a stepmotherly attitude towards Hindus. Referring to the arrest of Hindu Jagarana Vedike leader Jagadish Karanth, he said the government was arresting whoever spoke in favour of Hindus and added that people would teach them a lesson in the next election.

Earlier, when Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi started his ‘Man Ki Baat’ programme on radio, Congress leaders in the state criticised it dubbing it ‘ Vangi Bath’ and ‘Kesari Bath.’ Now, they were copying the same theme and had started Kaam Ki Baath. Copying is neither appreciated in education, nor in politics, said Mr Ashiok adding that people would ensure Siddaramaiah’s exit.

Later, after inducting two-time Congress MLA N.L. Narendra Babu into the party, Mr Yeddyurappa said the party will kickstart its election campaign from November 2, through Parivarthana Yathra.

Six volunteers from every polling booth would come to Bengaluru and a major rally would be organised on January 15, he said. The poll code of conduct will come into effect from February and the election commission will not allow huge rallies after that. After December, post the elections in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat, all senior BJP leaders would descend on Karnataka. By then, the party should be ready and send a signal to people that it would win at least 150 of the 224 Assembly seats, Mr Yeddyurappa added.
