V D Satheesan raps party leaders
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In an all-out attack on the party leadership, KPCC vice-president V.D. Satheeshan has said that the party in the state is heading for total ruin if the top three leaders — Oommen Chandy, Ramesh Chennithala and V.M. Sudheeran — do not mend their sectarian ways. Mr Satheeshan, considered a high command loyalist and unattached to any of the factions, alleged that despite the AICC giving complete freedom to the KPCC leadership, they had failed in their duties to revamp the organization and keep it battle-ready.
The reason: disunity among the trio, alleged Mr Satheeshan in a TV interview on Saturday. Party sources, however told DC, that the setbacks he received, in couple of occasions at the hands of Mr Chennithala, forced him to launch the stingers. However, Mr Satheeshan said KPCC president Sudheeran need not be removed from the post. Without naming the other two leaders, Mr Satheeshan claimed that all the senior leaders would have to be removed. Mr Satheeshan said he was not aware how and why he was asked at the last moment not to present the issue of self-financing college admission procedure during the adjournment motion.
“The job of raising the self-financing college admission procedure during the adjournment motion notice was assigned to me almost a week ago. But at the last moment, I was denied permission. If I had got the opportunity to present it, then I would have got the record of raising seven issues before the floor of the Assembly on a single day. I am not saying anything further on this issue,” he said.
A leader close to Mr Satheesan told DC that Mr Chennithala stopped the MLA from raising the issue the seventh time so as to keep the record of the late KC (J) chairman T. M. Jacob intact. Mr Satheeshan did not spare KPCC leaders, who called a hartal in Thiruvananthapuram district. He lamented that along with KPCC vice-president M.M. Hassan, he too was lampooned by the party leaders for the hrtal call.
