A damp squib, says Kummanam Rajasekharan
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan has said that the LDF government's 100 days was a damp squib implying ‘nothing seems to be working’. "They are instead creating unwanted controversies as they felt they had failed themselves in governance after promising to set everything right," he commented on Facebook. "Being in power for 100 days may not be a big thing, but one can understand by then in which direction the government is going."
He cited controversies over women's entry at Sabarimala, lighting the lamp and prayers at public functions and banning floral carpets in government offices as examples of attempts at diverting attention from governance paralysis. "Above all, the way in which CM’s men have taken the law into their hands and unleashing violence also shows its failure within 100 days of power,” he said.
Despite the LDF government promising to bring prices of essential goods under control, he said, nothing has so far happened while Onam and Bakrid are round the corner. He alleged that CPM had unleashed 300 attacks in 100 days. He also criticised CPM secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan's controversial statement in August asserting that CPM workers do not mind giving the wages for the work at the field itself. "When his party secretary came out with such statements, the CM kept mum," he said.
