Mangaluru: Former MLC and Congress leader Ivan D'Souza and his wife tested COVID positive on Saturday.
He and his wife Dr. Kavitha tested COVID positive and are admitted at a private hospital.
"I had sent my swab on Monday for testing in a private hospital and was tested negative on Tuesday. So I participated in all the programs of our state president D K Shivakumar on Friday and Saturday," Ivan D'Souza told Deccan Chronicle.
"But yesterday evening my wife felt feverish and I cut short the program. Along with my wife, I again gave my swab yesterday evening. Today evening the result came and tested positive. We are fine but got admitted to hospital," he added.
An active Congress leader, Ivan had participated in all the programmes of DK Shivakumar in Dakshina Kannada on Friday and Saturday.
He had also accompanied when the KPCC president met former MLC Vijayakumar Shetty who is suffering from health issues.
