Bengaluru: The new Bharatiya Janata Party government headed by Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa has withdrawn all cases filed against Hindu activists in various incidents of violence.
According to information received here, the state government has withdrawn around 200 cases filed against the Hindu activists for their alleged involvement in several incidents of violence.
However, the government has not issued any official communication in this regard.
It may be mentioned here that the Congress government led by former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had withdrawn cases filed against activists of the Popular Front of India (PFI), a minority organisation, who were allegedly involved in stray incidents of violence in Dakshin Kannada, Udupi and Kodagu districts during Tipu Jayanthi celebrations.
