Jagan meets Governor ESL Narasimhan to discuss split issues

The meeting took place before Mr Reddy went to meet Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy met Telangana State Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan on Thursday and discussed issues related to the two states.

The meeting took place before Mr Reddy went to meet Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

Mr Narasimhan, a former AP governor, had played a key role in resolving pending issues between the states. Mr Narasimhan and Mr Reddy discussed sharing of river waters and assets of the institutions listed in the 9th Schedule of the AP Reorganisation Act for about an hour.

This is the first time that Mr Reddy met Mr Narasimhan after the appointment of Mr Biswa Bhushan Harichandan as the Andhra Pradesh Governor.

The meeting comes a week ahead of the Centre holding a meeting with officials of both Telugu states to discuss pending issues related to the AP Reorganization Act.

Later, Mr Reddy along with his family members left for Jerusalem for a four-day visit.

He will return to Amaravati on August 5. This is Mr Reddy’s first pilgrimage to Jerusalem after becoming the Chief Minister.

Mr Reddy is expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 6 in New Delhi and submit a memorandum on special status, Kadapa steel plant, funds to cover the revenue deficit, funds of the Polavaram project and other issues, according to sources in the Chief Minister’s Office.
