Congress hits out at BJP over leader of Oppn post

Mangaluru: The Congress has launched a scathing attack on the BJP, criticizing the delay in appointing a leader of the opposition in Karnataka Assembly.

In a sharp move, the Karnataka Congress party took to Twitter on Saturday posting "Urgently needed: a suitable leader to fill the vacant position of the leader of the opposition in the Karnataka Assembly."

The tweet also outlined the desired 'eligibility' for the position.

"Eligibility: a leader well-versed in constitutional matters and democracy, someone untainted by corruption, and who has never sought legal protection against CDs. Need an opposition leader who is not influenced by communal ideologies and does not act as a mere puppet under the control of RSS," the tweet stated.

The Congress also emphasized the need of a leader who is not a degree holder in WhatsApp University and does not lie, who commands respect and carries weight in his words.

Above all, the Congress party stressed the need for a leader of the opposition who will actively work towards strengthening democracy. While BJP has been attacking Congress on the Guarantees, the ruling Congress is on the other hand targeting the infight amidst the BJP.
