Rajinikanth is right on Sterlite issue, says Pon Radhakrishnan

MK Stalin had also taken strong exception to Rajini's remark that frequent protests will turn the state into a \"graveyard.

Chennai: A day after charging the opposition DMK with losing its status for boycotting the Assembly proceedings, BJP senior and Union Minister of State for Finance and Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan flayed the DMK for "doubting" Tamil film ‘superstar’ Rajinikanth for expressing “the people’s voice” on Sterlite violence.

Flaying DMK working president M. K. Stalin for his remark that the actor echoed the saffron party when he said anti-social elements infiltrated the May 22 protests in Thoothukudi, Mr. Radhakrishnan said since the last one-and-a-half year he had been saying that anti-social elements and even “extremists” had infiltrated the State.

“This (infiltration) has led to a spate of protests on issues ranging from jallikattu, Cauvery to NEET,” he said.

Now the people of Tamil Nadu have started talking about this and Rajini is one among them. He has expressed the voice of the public. Where does the party come in this,” he asked while speaking to reporters here on Friday.

While expressing doubts, Mr. Stalin had sought to know if it was Rajini’s “own voice.” Stalin had also taken strong exception to Rajini’s remark that frequent protests will turn the state into a "graveyard.”
