VS Achuthanandan says he did not ask for party post

If I require a post, I don't have to give a note to Yechury, says Achuthanandan.

Thiruvananthapuram: Veteran CPM leader V. S. Achuthanandan has lashed out at a media house for spreading canards about him.

In a strongly worded Facebook post, the veteran leader said; “A lie is being spread that I gave a note to CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury seeking positions. The false reports appearing in a particular newspaper to establish the lie could well become a subject for study in future.”

Achuthanandan said; “It’s being reported that I handed over a note to Yechury that too in a piece of paper, containing some sentences written by someone on a white paper bearing no address. Even though I don’t have much formal education, I am capable of reading and writing in Malayalam and English even now.”

“I have the freedom to speak directly or give in writing to any leader of the CPM, a party which I have also nurtured and built all these decades. If I require a post, I don't have to give a note to Yechury that too at a swearing in ceremony."

“I can say with conviction that during my seven and a half decade long public life I have not run after any position at any level. I didn’t enter public life thinking I would get posts,” he added.
