Republic of Ballari has PM's blessing: Randeep Singh Surjewala
BENGALURU: The much-hype about “great expose” by the ruling Congress to coincide with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s launch of second leg of campaign turned out to be a repeat of much of what has been said before, with the head of the communications wing, Randeep Singh Surjewala, releasing accusations against BJP leaders, including state unit president B. S. Yeddyurappa and B. Janardhan Reddy, which are already in public domain, on Tuesday
Participating in a “Meet the Press” programme here, Mr Surjewala alleged that Modi -Shah duo was engulfed by ‘Clutches of Corruption’ ‘Dented- Tainted’ leaders rule the roost in BJP. "BJP - Bhrasht Janardhana Party,” he charged. According to him, Modi-Shah duo was walking on the “Clutches of Corruption”- one side being “Yeddy Gang” and the other, “Reddy Gang.” "The BJP’s list of candidates is a ‘who’s who’ of ‘dented-tainted’ leaders facing prosecution at multiple levels for their misdeeds," he added.
Mr Surjewala also charged that “Republic of Ballari” has the blessings of PM Modi with eight Assembly tickets and a puppet CBI working overtime to wash the sins of ‘Reddy brothers’. "No wonder, the CBI has surreptitiously withdrawn six CBI cases of Goa-Karnataka-Tamil Nadu in India’s biggest Rs 35,000 crore ‘Illegal Iron-ore Mining Scam’. Fearing imminent defeat, the duplicity, deception and double-speak of Prime Minister Mr Modi could be gauged from the fact that the leader restricted his campaign to merely five days. Mr ; PM Modi has declined to share the dais with his party’s CM candidate Mr Yeddyurappa. The Modi -Shah duo first cleared Mr Yeddyurappa’s son’s ticket for Varuna Assembly and then denied in face of public outcry. Mr Modi-Shah and other BJP leaders are avoiding going to Ballari despite giving eight tickets to the ‘Reddy Gang’. Mr Modi-Shah are chickening out from association with Mr Reddy as CM candidate, Yeddyurappa publicly embraces him and Mr Reddy emerges as the principal campaign manager for the BJP," he charged while releasing documents to buttressing his arguments. He also alleged that as many as 24 cases of corruption, cheating and forgery are pending against BJP CM candidate, Mr Yeddyurappa in various courts. “As many as 15 cases of corruption registered against Mr Yeddyurappa are now pending adjudication in the Supreme Court. Despite knowing all this, Modi-Shah duo declared him as CM face. Why?," he wondered.
