K Chandrasekhar Rao's front will help BJP: Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy

The CPI party Congress held at Thiruvananthapuram passed a resolution highlighting the need for a broader Left and Secular platform in the country.

Hyderabad: The new front proposed by Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will only end up helping the BJP, CPI general-secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy said, and cited BJP president Amit Shah’s welcoming of the move as evidence. He also added that anybody with some political understanding will choose to stay out of the front.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Mr Sudhakar Reddy said it is difficult for the CPI to have an understanding with other political parties at a national level to defeat the BJP in the coming elections, but the party is open to a state-level alliance. He also hinted at a possible alliance with the Telangana Jana Samiti (TJS), headed by Prof. M. Kodandaram and ad-ded that the state committee of the CPI was trying to create a wide platform against the TRS and the BJP in the state. The party disagrees with the political ideology of the TRS at every level, Mr Sudhakar Reddy said. The CPI general-secretary said that the party is planning to strengthen Left parties in the coming days to present an alternative before the people.

The CPI party Congress held at Thiruvananthapuram passed a resolution highlighting the need for a broader Left and Secular platform in the country. Remarking that the fight is against the BJP, its communal forces and corporate system, Mr Sudhakar Reddy commented that the alliance should defeat the BJP. Terming the hand over of maintenance of the Red Fort to a private firm “shameful”, Mr Sudhakar Reddy also said he wouldn't be surprised if the maintenance of government was handed over to private parties.
