4 of family consuming resources of 4 crore people': Mallu Bhatti

Adilabad: Senior Congress leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday aimed his barrels at the senior leadership of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, accusing the state government of leading the sand mafia in the state, especially shaving hundreds of lorries of sand from banks of Godavari in Chennur.

Speaking at a corner meeting at Bheemaram in Chennur Assembly segment of Mancherial district, he said “four members of a family were exploiting natural resources of four crore people”, in a dig at K. Chandrashekar Rao and his family.

Reminding the people about the Congress having set up the Gollavagu irrigation project to irrigate 9,500 acres, he accused the BRS of failing to create canals to supply water to fields, under the project.

He also said that the state government was using the Rythu Bandhu scheme as a pretext to cut all agricultural subsidies.

Bhatti told the crowd that his padayatra was not because of elections, but as a ‘people’s march’ to interact with the public.

Continuing his tirade against the BRS, he said the state government also ruined the SHG ecosystem by failing to give interest-free loans.

Expressing confidence about the Congress securing a “comfortable majority” in the elections, he told the crowd that they would resolve the state’s problems.

“The BRS government has abruptly stopped the construction works of the Pranahitha Chevelle that were taken up by the Congress to give water to the Chennur Assembly constituency also and redesigned the Kaleshwaram project, with people of Chennur left to suffer,” he said.

He also questioned the Chennur MLA, Balka Suman of the BRS, over his silence on the TSPSC paper leaks, given that he was a student leader.

Osmania University JAC leaders and research scholars, Durgam Ravinder and Warangal Ravi, among others, were present with Bhatti on his padayatra.
