Tirupati: Tension prevailed at Mangilipattu village in Chandragiri constituency after some of the villagers, believed to be the supporters of Telugu Desam, restricted YSR Congress nominee Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy from campaigning in the village on Monday. Heated arguments were exchanged between the cadre of TD and YSRC that led to clashes later.

Recently, a series of clashes had broken out in several hamlets between YSRC and TD local leaders, who also filed police cases against each other, on several occasions. There were some instances in which the local leaders and cadre of both the parties indulged in physical war where in several sustained injuries.

On Saturday night, a heated argument related to poll campaign between the followers of both the parties at Panapakam in this constituency also led to clashes between the cadre.
