Rift in open: Karnataka Congress divide over Digvijay Singh
Bengaluru: As Congress legislators raise the pitch for berths in the Siddaramaiah ministry, one person may not be around to witness the high octane battle - party in-charge for Karnataka Digvijay Singh. His soft approach towards CM Siddaramaiah’s ‘misdemeanours,’ has earned him the wrath of several legislators who have waited too long to be inducted into the ministry.
Home minister and KPCC president Dr G. Parameshwar admitted that a reshuffle of the AICC was on the cards and Mr Singh may be shifted elsewhere after polls in four states. And who could be the replacement? Going by the cracks fast appearing in the state Congress with ministers Dinesh Gundu Rao and Ramalinga Reddy lashing out at those demanding berths, the Karnataka job may require a lot more guile than one thought it needed.
Trouble in BJP too, BSY miffed
The absence of former Chief Minister, B.S.Yeddyurappa from the BJP state executive meeting did not go unnoticed. The Lingayat strongmen was reportedly miffed at being invited as a "guest" to the meeting and deliberately stayed away till evening to demonstrate his displeasure. Among those present at the meeting were Venkaiah Naidu, Ananth Kumar, and D.V. Sadananda Gowda.
