BJP warns of action against rumour mongering party leaders

HYDERABAD: The Telangana BJP has warned that internal dissidence or strife would be dealt with firmly, amidst speculation that there could be changes in the district party president posts.

This is not the first time that indications have emerged that all might not be well within the party. Word was doing the rounds for some time that some leaders were not seeing eye to eye and engaging in promoting themselves.

This was attended to at the February 28 meeting of the party’s core committee and senior leaders with Union home minister Amit Shah in New Delhi, where Shah is reported to have made it clear that everyone must work together, with the single goal of bringing the BJP to power in Telangana.

On Thursday, BJP state general secretary G. Premender Reddy in a statement said there was no truth in the claims being made by some that there will be changes in district party president positions. Any party leader indulging in acts that will bring the party into disrepute, cause confusion and take to social media platforms claiming that a party structure revamp was on the cards will be dealt with strictly. “There has been no discussion on any such changes,” Premender Reddy said.
