Paul questions incomplete Secretariat’s inauguration on CM’s birthday in PIL

HYDERABAD: President of Praja Shanti Party Dr K.A. Paul has filed a PIL seeking a direction to the state government against inaugurating the new Secretariat complex on February 17, which is the birthday of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

The construction is incomplete and the government should restrain itself from going ahead with its inauguration he said.

'When the new Secretariat has been given the name of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and when construction work is still underway, why this haste for a February 17 inauguration,” he wondered.

The petitioner said that the new building being constructed on seven lakh square feet at a whopping cost of Rs 610 crore should be inaugurated on April 14, commemorating the birth anniversary of Ambedkar. The Chief Secretary and the principal secretary to the Chief Minister, CMO office are the respondents in the PIL.
