CPI to oppose move to take K M Mani into LDF fold

Kanam Rajendran pointed out that even the KC (M) did not have a cohesive stand on the alliance.

KOTTAYAM: CPI will continue to oppose the CPM move to rope in K.M. Mani's Kerala Congress. CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran pointed out that even the KC (M) did not have a cohesive stand on the alliance. "Already three MLAs are up in arms against Mani's move to join the LDF," he told DC. He ruled out chances of the CPM unilaterally deciding to induct the KC (M) brushing aside the CPI objections.

"The issue was not even discussed in the LDF. If a unilateral decision were there, we would take an appropriate decision at the right time," he said. The KC (M) working chairman P.J. Joseph had on Wednesday rejected Mr Mani's statement that the Congress party was responsible for not regularising land held by farmers. Kaduthuruthy MLA Mons Joseph and Changanacherry MLA C.F. Thomas are also against the party going with the LDF. Another leader Thomas Unniyadan also protested Mr Mani's move.
