TJS blames Congress, TD for defeat
Hyderabad: While Congress leaders are blaming Electronic Voting Machines for the defeat in the recent Assembly elections, the Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) president Mr. M. Kodandaram has blamed the leaders of Congress and Telugu Desam (TD) saying that the "overconfidence" of both the parties was the reason for the defeat of Prajakutami (People’s Front) in the recent elections. He said that blaming the EVMs was not correct, when parties lose the elections.
Speaking to media persons at the TJS office in the city on Tuesday, Mr Kodandaram said there were a few incidents where the leaders of the Congress and TD were overconfident. He said, “I have worked with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) for about 10 years and I know his way of functioning. When I said that campaigning should be started quickly, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mr. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that three weeks was enough for the campaigning. The Telugu Desam President Mr L. Ramana said that two weeks of campaigning was more than enough to take on the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). They have not listened to my words when I asked them to complete the seat adjustments as early as possible.”
The TJS also felt that the Manifesto and Agenda of the Prajakutami was good. But, the Kutami had failed to take it to the public through their campaigns.
The TJS leader also felt that the speeches of senior leaders were limited to the meetings of AICC president Rahul Gandhi.
Kodandaram expressed that the Kutami had failed to establish the failures of Mr Chandrasekhara Rao and his family rule. “There was no time to take on the TRS, as we were busy with seat adjustments till the last minute,” said Mr. Kodandaram.
However, Prof. Kodanda-ram said that the Prajakutami would continue in the future too. He condemned the rumours that the Congress had offered him a Rajya Sabha seat. He said, “There are no such discussions. I believe that the Kutami will continue for the Parliament elections too. The Congress is going for the alliances across the country and the same will continue in Telangana I guess.”
