HC completes allocation of judicial staff for Telangana, AP

The employees allocated to the AP have been asked to report to the Registrar General of AP High Court on or before January 4, 2019.

Hyderabad: The allocation of judicial staff for the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh was completed by the Hyderabad High Court on Monday. The employees allocated to the AP have been asked to report to the Registrar General of AP High Court on or before January 4, 2019.

About 761 employees have chosen to work in Telangana High Court and 271 have opted to work at AP High Court. As there are lesser vacancies in the Telangana, the High Court administrative wing has decided to give a deputation to some of the employees and allocated them for lowers in Telangana and also to allocate some of them for AP High Court.

As many as 121 employees of various posts including assistant and joint registrars who were allotted to Telangana have been sent to AP on deputation. And, 218 employees are deputed to work in the lower courts of the state.

The employees who were sent on deputation have expressed concern over promotions in the future after the vacancies come up in the state.

Meanwhile, Former MLA R. Krishnaiah on Tuesday filed a fresh petition in the Telangana High Court challenging the reduction in the reservation for the Backward Classes in panchayat elections. He urged the court to suspend the implementation of the impugned Telangana Ordinance No.2, which has brought down the reservation from 34 per cent to 23 per cent. The court will hear the petition on Wednesday.

TRS MP Vinod Kumar on Tuesday said that the constitution of separate Telangana High Court would strengthen the judiciary in the state.

While congratulating the new judges and the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court, he said that the development was the result of a prolonged struggle by the people, the lawyers and the MPs from the state.

Mr Vinod Kumar said that a separate High Court will also help the state government establish subordinate courts in all districts.
