TS Congress demands SIT probe of defection cases since 2014

Hyderabad: The Congress on Thursday demanded that the special investigation team (SIT) headed by city police commissioner C.V. Anand, probing the alleged bid to poach TRS MLAs, should investigate all cases of defection that have erupted since 2014.

It demanded that the State government extend the scope of inquiry by SIT to cover Congress and other parties MLAs joining TRS after Assembly elections in 2014 and 2019.

Speaking to mediapersons, senior PCC vice-president, G. Niranjan reminded that after the 2014 and 2019 Assembly elections, several MLAs from other parties were lured by TRS leadership to join the ruling party, and the people should know how this trap was laid.

Niranjan wondered how Talasani Srinivas Yadav, who won on a TD ticket and later joined the TRS, was rewarded with a ministry in December 2014. Ch Malla Reddy, who won the Lok Sabha seat from Malkajgiri on a TD ticket, joined TRS in 2016.

"It is to be noted that Srinivas Yadav’s son got a TRS ticket for Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat and Malla Reddy's son-in-law from Malkajgiri Parliamentary constituency. Sabita Indra Reddy, who won on the Congress ticket in 2018, joined the TRS in March 2019 after meeting Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan," he said.

The Congress leader demanded Narco tests on all these leaders to find out the truth.
