HC rejects Hetero plea to delete their names from quid pro quo cases filed by CBI

Hyderabad: In a setback to the Hetero group of companies (Drugs and Labs) and its director M Srinivasa Reddy, the Telangana High Court on Tuesday rejected their plea to delete their names from the CBI cases filed in relation to YS Jaganmohan Reddy's quid pro quo cases.

Justice Shameem Akther, who heard the quash petitions, pronounced the verdict. Srinivas Reddy and Hetero Group are accused in one of the 11 FIRs filed by CBI in these cases.

In the charge-sheet, CBI had said the Hetero Group (HG) had invested in Jaganmohan Reddy’s companies because HG had been allotted 75 acres of land at Jadcherla SEZ and other facilities were also extended to the group by the then government – the time when Jagan’s father YS Rajasheker Reddy was chief minister.

Refuting the CBI’s contentions, Hetero company and Srinivas Reddy filed discharge petitions before the CBI court, requesting it to discharge them from the cases. When the CBI court rejected their plea, they approached the high court in 2016 with the quash petition. This too has failed.
