HYDERABAD: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader Gudur Narayana Reddy on Tuesday said the electoral tactics of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao would not work anymore and people were ready to send him back home packing. Narayana Reddy strongly condemned the comments made by the Chief Minister against union minister G. Kishan Reddy at a press conference held here on Monday.

He said the words being used by the Chief Minister were indecent and vulgar and uncalled for.

“How would it be if the same language is used by the common people against you?” he wanted to know.

He said whenever the Chief Minister sensed danger to his position, he woke from the slumber and began to play mind games and indulged in hollow rhetoric. The Chief Minister tried to divert the attention of people from burning issues, the BJP leader said.

“For instance, he raised the issue of the Krishna water to the south Telangana region in the past. Then he toyed with the Andhra employee’s issue. Now, he brought up the paddy issue to divert the attention of people from the threats being faced by the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS),” Narayana Reddy said. He said with the defeat in Huzurabad by poll, the Chief Minister sensed threat to his position and started to raise political heat in the state. With a series of press conferences, he had been trying to neutralise the effect of the defeat on the party in Huzurabad and to keep the party intact. He said as far as procuring paddy was concerned, the Chief Minister was only a middleman in purchasing the produce. In fact, it was the FCI which purchased the paddy and the state government’s role was minimal, he said.
