BJP saved K Chandrasekhar Rao from CBI: Kutami

TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that Mr Rao had given a contract to one Y. Satyanarayana by overruling norms.

Hyderabad: The People’s Front on Friday came up with a new allegation saying that the BJP had helped remove caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s name from a CBI chargesheet regarding the ESI scam when he was Union labour minister.

TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that Mr Rao had given a contract to one Y. Satyanarayana by overruling norms. The case was still going on Mr Rao was A1, he alleged. “This is the reason for KCR’s tours to Delhi. To escape from this case KCR used to meet the Prime Minister. KCR’s name was removed from the chargesheet. The case was filed during the UPA and he managed it in the tenure of the NDA.”

Mr Reddy criticised Mr Rao for attacking UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi. “Sonia Gandhi didn’t speak about anyone from the TRS. But KCR is intentionally levelling allegations against Sonia Gandhi. It is fact that KCR was at the feet of Sonia Gandhi in the past. He has to control his foul language against Sonia Gandhi and Mr Chandrababu Naidu. As KCR is fearful of defeat, he is levelling false allegations on Mr Naidu.”

TS Telugu Desam president L. Ramana alleged Mr Rao was involved in the Sahara scam apart form the ESI scam. “KCR has dug his own political grave in the form of early elections,” he said.
