YSRC alerts party rank and file over changes in voter lists

Vijayawada: YSRC general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has asked the YSRC rank and file to be alert about the changes in the voters list at the time of the next assembly elections.

A workshop was held for YSRC leaders from 175 constituencies regarding the voter's list in Tadepalli on Tuesday. The event started with the garlanding of a statue of the late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

Ramakrishna Reddy said that the coming four months were crucial vis-à-vis the voters list. The party rank and file should pay special attention to the list in each constituency.

He said a special mechanism was working in the central office of the party to coordinate matters. “Monitor the voters list from the polling booth level,” he said.

The adviser said the party in every polling booth must study the recent changes and additions in the respective lists. “Work in such a way that every eligible person can get the right to vote in the respective polling booths. JCS coordinators, housekeepers, and polling booth committee members should cooperate and work in coordination, he said.

“It is the responsibility of the party machinery to bring voters to the polling booth and make them vote as per their wish."

He noted that the Telugu Desam has been spreading “misinformation” that manipulations have taken place in the voter's list and that the YSRC was removing names of voters from the lists on a large scale. He asked the YSRC rank and file to be alert against the “conspiracies” of the Telugu Desam leaders and against the green media creating confusion among the people through false propaganda.

Booth-level agents have been appointed to bring to the attention of the Election Commission about fake, duplicate, and removed names in the lists, through BLOs, with the help of the summary revision of the Election Commission.

YSRC leader Tummala Lokeswara Reddy gave directions to the party rank and file through a powerpoint presentation and cleared their doubts on various issues relating to the assembly polls.

Minister Pinipe Viswarup, government whip in the legislative council Lella Appi Reddy, JCS state coordinators, party leaders, and organisers participated in the workshop.
