DMK has least tolerance to criticism: Pon Radhakrishnan
Chennai: The BJP, which is facing criticism from the DMK on various issues including imposition of Hindi, attempted to turn the tables on the Dravidian major accusing it of a being a political party with least tolerance for criticism.
Party senior and Union Minister of State for Finance and Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan alleged that the DMK working president M.K. Stalin cannot digest constructive criticism and was growing intolerant. He however had a word of praise for DMK chief M. Karunanidhi saying he always relished the choice of words and exceptional Tamil spoken by Mr Karunanidhi.
Of late, the BJP has been drawing flak from the DMK, which had ruled the state on many occasions, for attempting to impose Hindi and Sanskrit through the Navodaya Schools and for "pushing its agenda" through the ruling AIADMK.
“AIADMK’s chapter is over, it has split into two and people are not prepared to accept DMK working president M.K. Stalin. So, the BJP has a big responsibility to occupy the vacuum (vacated by the two Dravidian majors). The BJP has come to power in about 69 per cent of places and it would rule the remaining areas too,” Mr Radhakrishnan tweeted.
Earlier in the day, Mr. Radhakrishnan participated in the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas motorcycle rally at Velachery here and himself rode a motorbike. A large number of enthusiastic BJP members took part in this event which marked the birth anniversary of the iron man of India and freedom fighter — Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The Minister paid rich tributes to Sardar Patel on the occasion.
