YSRC leader asks PK to explain why opposed online ticket system

Srikanth Reddy said that in the past two years, the YSRC won all the elections with 85-95 per cent majority

VIJAYAWADA: Asserting that the YSR Congress will win Badvel by-election with a huge majority, Government Chief Whip Srikanth Reddy slammed both TD and Jana Sena leaders for trying to play caste politics and raking up silly issues.

It was cinema people who have asked the government to introduce an online ticket system. The government wanted to be a facilitator and ensure transparency. “Now, Pawan Kalyan is objecting to the online ticket system. What is his problem,” Reddy asked at a media meet here on Thursday.

The chief whip said the two-year governance of chief minister Jagan has been well-received across the state and the mood is the same with the people in Badvel. They too are aware of the welfare schemes and the state’s successful fight against Covid, he said.

He said that as instructed by the CM, all the government programmes and welfare initiatives will be explained to every household in Badvel and the people’s blessings for the government will be sought.

He claimed that, like no other government, Andhra Pradesh had directly credited over Rs 1,00,000 crore into the accounts of the welfare scheme beneficiaries with no speck of corruption and fulfilled over 98 per cent of the promises the YSRC made in the 2019 poll manifesto.

Srikanth Reddy said that in the past two years, the YSRC won all the elections with 85-95 per cent majority. Out of 13,000 sarpanch posts, 10,500 sarpanches belonged to the YSRC, 9,600 MPTCs, 631 ZPTCs, 634 MPPs, 13 ZP chairpersons, 518 corporators, 1,800 counsellors and 74 municipal chairpersons are with the YSRC.

He said that by seeing such support from people, the Opposition was conspiring to create unrest in the state if only to divert the people’s attention from the good work of the government. “No one can do anything to YSRC as long as it has the people’s support,” he said.

The chief whip stated that either the Opposition TD or the Jana Sena party could have brought issues, if any, to the government. If so, those would be considered and resolved.

“The opposition parties have an agenda to degrade the government by speaking on sensitive issues like caste and religion. They try to ignore all the good deeds of the government, wherein women and weaker sections have been prioritised in all nominated posts and works,” he said and criticised Pawan Kalyan by saying he was speaking with frustration instead of providing suggestions.
