YSRC social media warriors readying for 2024 fight in AP
YSRC SM activists went into despair for the past three years as very little attention was paid to them by the party

VIJAYAWADA: YSR Congress has speeded up its efforts to strengthen the party’s base in social media by appointing 136 district conveners for social media (SM) as also co-conveners under Mission-2024, and also to effectively neutralize the negative campaign of the opposition parties on SM platforms.
Social media is playing an important role in the elections to attract the masses, which had helped the YSRC in 2019.
YSRC SM activists went into despair for the past three years as very little attention was paid to them by the party busy with its rule of the state and even registering cases against several hardcore social media enthusiasts.
Recently, taking note of the unrest among them, the YSRC started efforts to pacify them and offered them jobs in private companies through the party’s Job Melas. As the time is nearing for the next assembly polls, the YSRC has decided to speed up the party campaign using social media, not only to take the achievements of the Jagan government to the public realm, but also to strongly counter the vilifying campaign against it by the opposition parties.
In June this year, the CM appointed four presidents to the YSRC state social media, namely Gurrampati Devender Reddy, Putta Sivashankar, Madhusudhan Reddy and Pamireddigari Madhusudhan.
This week, Jagan further appointed 26 SM conveners and 110 co-conveners to 26 districts in AP. Pagidipati Chaitanya was appointed as NTR district SM coordinator, Mir Asgar for Krishna district, Meka Venkataramireddy for Guntur, Mallikarjuna Reddy for Planadu, Indrasena Reddy for Kurnool, Janga Vinodkumar for Nandyal, Shashavali for Satyasai, Praveen Kumar for Annamayya, Naveen Kumar for Chittoor, B Kishore for Tirupati, Rawoofuddin Ahamed for Nellore, Pernamitta Rajeswari for Prakasam, Challa Sasidhar for Bapatla etc to the rest of the districts.
The YSRC conducted a workshop for SM activists and presented kits with T-shirt of Jagnanna Social Media Warrior with its emblem and a Jagan photo, identity card, cap, pen and badge.
Political analysts say that earlier the BJP and Telugu Desam were top in SM activities which helped them win the 2014 elections. The YSRC strengthened its SM wing in the 2019 elections and won the polls. Now the CM is refilling them with more enthusiasm and giving a boost to the party’s SM wings in all the 26 districts and giving importance to the activists by offering one convener and four co-convener posts.
YSRC general secretary and adviser to the government Sajjala Ramakrishna said the guiding principle of all the party wings was the leadership of chief minister and his welfare agenda. The prime focus of the social media wing is to raise awareness among the people that if the Telugu Desam comes to power again, all the welfare schemes being implemented by the Jagan government would be halted.
