Kamal Haasan building political castle in air: Tamilisai Soundararajan
Chennai: The BJP slammed actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan for claiming to begin his political journey and said he was building castles in the air.
Though the party would welcome anyone who worked for the cause of the people, in her opinion, “he is building an imaginary castle, hoping to capture the fort (St George where the state secretariat is situated),” BJP state president Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan has said. “It seems that Kamal had lost his fort in cinema and hence is dreaming of becoming a politician to capture power. This is his imagination. It doesn't matter where he builds the fort — in Twitter or in Coimbatore,” she said on Thursday.
Speaking at a marriage function in Coimbatore on Wednesday evening, the actor said people should not consider it as just a wedding function but an inauguration for a political journey.
Dr Tamilisai took potshots at the opposition DMK saying that party was using the office of the Governor and courts to gain political mileage over the conflict within the ruling AIADMK. “Stalin (DMK working president) is fishing in troubled waters and hopes to gain out of it,” she remarked.
The party president who attended a series of meetings in Coimbatore, Tiruppur and Tiruchi in the state, called upon her party members to strive hard to make the lotus bloom in the state.
“The BJP members will have to work hard to reach out (to the people) in the forthcoming local body elections and in the process raise issues concerning the people,” she urged. They should address the civic issues and need for better amenities for the people in order to win the people's hearts, Dr Tamilisai added.
