Sujana Chowdary says no plan now to quit Cabinet

A source said that TD government was trying to get more funds from the Centre.

VIJAYAWADA: Despite all the hard talk, the TD’s alliance with the BJP will continue. TD Union ministers, Mr Sujana Chowdary and Mr Ashok Gajapati Raju, will continue in the NDA Cabinet despite the drama following the Centre almost rejecting special status for AP during a Rajya Sabha debate last week.

Asked about reports that they offered to resign, Union minister Y.S. Chowdary told this correspondent: “We did not offer to resign. During discussions, when some MPs suggested we hold dharnas and stall Parliament proceedings, we said that this could be done only after resigning from the Cabinet and coming out of the alliance. The reports that we have offered to resign are false.”

A source said that TD government was trying to get more funds from the Centre. The source said, “Nothing will happen till the next Budget. There is no thinking in the party on coming out of the alliance”
