MPs will meet PM on Special tag: CM Chandrababu Naidu
Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has make it clear that the MPs of the Telugu Desam including Union ministers P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Y. Sujana Chowdary would meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again on according special category status to AP in the next two days.
Meanwhile, Telugu Desam MPs would also stage a protest at the Mahatma Gandhi statue in Parliament to kick off a series of agitations to get the special status movement.
After a four-hour-long meeting with MPs, Mr Naidu said that still they want follow ‘Mitra Dharma’ but the Centre should realise and implement all promises of AP.
Mr Naidu also took strong exception to the Centre’s stance that there was scarcity of funds, stating then it were so why it has support state bifurcation. He expressing regrets over finance minister Arun Jaitley’s statement in the Rajya Sabha who said as to why the BJP supported the unscientific AP Reorganisation Bill when the Centre has no funds.
“There is no need to get a nod from 14th finance commission for according special status. The Special Category is life and death for AP and the government will take it very seriously,” he said.
“The BJP has also included special status as their election promise. They took part in the elections with the TD tie- up, both the governments have equal responsibility to do justice for the five crore people of AP,” he said.
