YSRC-TD row over Satya Nadella's career

TIRUPATI: Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy lashed out at Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, accusing him of spreading misinformation about how Satya Nadella rose to become the CEO of Microsoft.

Addressing a press conference in Nellore on Friday, Govardhan Reddy provided a detailed background of Satya Nadella's education and career. He pointed out that Nadella completed his engineering in Bengaluru between 1984 and 1988. After his degree, he pursued further studies in the USA, obtaining his Master's Degree in 1990. Subsequently, he joined Sun Micro Systems, which transitioned into Microsoft in 1992.

The minister said: “This timeline clearly refutes Naidu's statements. The TD leader had claimed that Satya Nadella's growth as Microsoft CEO was linked to his party's regime in 2004.”

Govardhan Reddy underlined that there is a pattern of dishonesty throughout Naidu’s political career. "Chandrababu Naidu has been telling lies throughout his life and takes credit for anything that is successful," he remarked. In this regard, he mentioned that Naidu took credit for the idea of developing national highways in the country.

Speaking on party manifestos, the minister praised YSRC for being transparent in implementing the schemes in its manifesto. He accused TD of hiding its manifesto and plagiarising it from the internet.

On promises, Govardhan Reddy claimed that the former CM made 650 promises during his tenure but failed to fulfil even 10 per cent of them. He said a visit to Kuppam and Tekkali will let anyone know first-hand whose manifesto's promises are being fulfilled.

Regarding the Bindu Sedyam scheme, the minister refuted allegations made by TD national general secretary Nara Lokesh. He stated that during Naidu's regime, ₹800 crore had been allocated for Bindu Sedyam, whereas the YSRC government provided ₹2,000 crores. He underlined that even the centre had recognised successful implementation of Bindu Sedyam by the YSRC government.
