Chennai: Amid all the Opposition digs that the AIADMK Government is functioning like a vassal of the BJP regime at the Centre, senior state minister D. Jayakumar on Saturday called Union Minister of State Pon Radhakrishnan a “liar like the Nazi Goebbels” in alleging that extremist forces are active in Tamil Nadu whereas in truth the state was "a haven of peace”.
“Despite holding a responsible position as a Central Minister, he (Pon) is speaking like a third (ordinary) person. He is repeatedly alleging that extremist forces are active in Tamil Nadu whereas our state has always been a haven of peace. By repeating his lie multiple times, he hopes to get the people believe it's the truth-much like (Nazi propagandist) Goebbels”, Jayakumar said.
Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan has been repeatedly warning the EPS Government of increased activities of extremist forces and naxals in Tamil Nadu, while arguing that their influence in violently opposing some industries and development projects in the state provided ample evidence. The state government should “shun its soft attitude and take firm steps to eliminate the extremist threat”, the Central told reporters at the airport even a couple of days back.
