Women most affected by BJP's rule: Rahul in Karnataka
Bengaluru: Disqualified Congress Lok Sabha member Rahul Gandhi on Monday alleged that women have been the biggest victims of the Bharatiya Janata Party ‘loot’ in the country by stating that “Not only did BJP take 40 per cent commission, it also raised prices of essential commodities.”
At the election campaign for Congress nominees in Turuvekere of Tumakuru district, Rahul Gandhi accused Modi of raising the prices of essential commodities to help his friends (businessmen) and assured that Congress party, if elected, will give each woman Rs 2,000 per month, free travel for women in public transport buses, 200 units of free power and 10 kgs of rice.
Gandhi stated that BJP likes ‘40’ number very much and people remember BJP ‘40’ number over allegations of 40 per cent commission in every contract and every work and wanted the voters of Karnataka to give 40 seats to the BJP and 150 seats to the Congress party so that BJP cannot snatch their MLAs.
“Tell the people of Karnataka what did you do in the last 3 years and what will you do in the next 5 years?” and also “Do tell, how did you help Karnataka when it suffered heavy losses due to floods?” Rahul questioned Modi.
His other question to Modi was “What did you do to stop corruption and 40 per cent commission in Karnataka in the last 3 years, why didn’t you take action against corrupt leaders?”
It is not that the PM was unaware about the corruption in Karnataka. He knew everything including letters from Contractors Association accusing 40 per cent commission and also Dingaleshwar Swamiji’s allegation of 30 percent commission taken from his Mutt, said Rahul.
