TD, YSRC poster war in Tadipatri

The board gave figures of diesel consumption during the rule of the two parties

ANANTAPUR: Hypersensitive Tadipatri witnessed a poster war between YSRC and TD on Sunday after a board appeared in the town accusing municipal chairman J.C. Prabhakar Reddy of being a diesel thief.

The board gave figures of diesel consumption during the rule of the two parties, along with photos of Prabhakar Reddy on one side and Tadipatri MLA K. Pedda Reddy on the other.

Prabhakar Reddy reached the venue of the board claiming that while he (Prabhakar) stole the hearts of Tadipatri people, the MLA has been looting natural resources belonging to public within the Tadipatri segment.

The TD leader entered into a heated argument with police for allowing a flexi poster that abused the municipal chairman. He demanded police take action against YSRC leaders who have put up the board.

The flexi mentioned that diesel prices had been less than ₹70 per litre between 2014–2019, when the municipality spent ₹5.47 crore on 8.39 lakh litres of diesel. But, after YSRC assumed power in the state, only 3.68 lakh litres have been used in the municipality. YSRC thereby accused Prabhakar Reddy of stealing the diesel.

The TD leader maintained that while Tadipatri had stood as top municipality in the country and even received national-level awards during the TDP rule, development has been zero in the municipality for the past four years.

“People know how much development happened during the TD regime, including widening of roads,” Prabhakar pointed out.
